IslesNet Quick Update

Just a quick update: IslesNet will be at the John Tavares Press Conference tomorrow at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. If all goes well, an article will be posted no later than 10:00 PM Wednesday night.
Feel free to join the press and all the Islanders bloggers at the Coliseum tomorrow at 12:30. If you cannot attend, be sure to log onto the New York Islanders website and watch the press conference live from Islanders TV. I am anticipating a rather large turnout from not only the Canadian press, but also the local press (Newsday, New York Post, etc.). Considering John Tavares has been under the scope in Canada since he was 14 years old, it is fair to say that will continue tomorrow. The more fans, the better. It is a great opportunity to further show your support for the Islanders number one pick.
As for the Lighthouse, today was a rather successful day. The D.G.E.I.S successfully made it through the board with a unanimous vote, and the Envionmental Impact review is now open for public discussion until mid-August.

Also, in keeping with the Lighthouse theme, be sure to keep August 4th available, as it could quite possibly be the most important date for the Lighthouse thus far. If there was ever a day you wanted to devote to the Lighthouse Project, this would be the day. For more information, please check in with Nick Giglia's ever-informative Lighthouse Blog at http://lettherebelighthouse.blogspot.com/ . He is the best source for everything related to the Lighthouse Project. I am simply assisting him in spreading the word.
Lastly, I want to thank the New York Islanders Net readers. In the last four days, we have had over 400 hits to the website, with over 2200 hits coming since June 17th. Furthermore, new followers are constantly joining us on Twitter (the link is on the top right part of this page). While we were hoping to attract a small and loyal fanbase, it has become much more than that. A sincere thanks goes out to the readers of this webpage, and all the hockey fans who make up the blogosphere.

Congratulations on all the hits, Justin, you deserve it. I have enjoyed coming to this website for quite some time, and I am starting to see that many other people are enjoying it as well. As for the JT presser, I look forward to your update, as well as CB's and BD's. Take care!
